Privacy Policy

How Harvard Digital Academy collects, uses, shares and protects personal data, and the rights you have over it under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1Who we are

Harvard Digital Academy ("we", "us") is a training institute at 1st Floor, Oil Mill Rd, Aravind Nagar, Peace Layout, Kammanahalli, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560084. We decide why and how your personal data is processed, so we are the data fiduciary for it under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

2Information we collect

  • Enquiries and counselling: name, mobile number, email, course of interest, preferred mode and anything you write in the message.
  • Admission and studies: date of birth, qualification, address, guardian details where needed, attendance, assignments, assessment results, certificates and fee payments.
  • Trainer applications: name, contact details, experience and the resume you upload.
  • Website use: pages visited, device type, browser and the referring site. See "Cookies and analytics" below.
  • We do not ask for passwords to other services, card numbers or bank details. Online payments are handled by our payment provider, which sends us only a confirmation.

3Why we use it

  • To answer your enquiry, offer counselling and share course, fee and batch details.
  • To run your course: admission, batches, attendance, assessments, certificates, receipts and the student portal.
  • To provide placement assistance when you ask for it.
  • To send course updates and offers you have agreed to receive by call, SMS, email or WhatsApp. You can opt out at any time.
  • To keep the website secure, prevent misuse and meet our legal and tax obligations.

We process your personal data with your consent, which you give when you submit a form or enrol, or where the law otherwise allows. We keep a record of what you agreed to and when. You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to us; this does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it, but we may then be unable to continue a service that needs the data.

5Students under 18

If a student is under 18, we collect and use their personal data only with the verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian, who may exercise the rights below on their behalf. We do not track children's behaviour or show them targeted advertising.

6Cookies and analytics

Essential cookies and browser storage keep forms, sign-in and security working; they are always on. Other cookies load only if you allow them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time from "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. The Cookie Policy lists each one.

  • Analytics (optional): Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity show which pages are visited and how the site is used, so we can improve it. Clarity may record anonymised page interactions such as clicks and scrolling; it does not record what you type into forms.
  • Advertising (optional): Google Ads measures which of our ads lead to enquiries. We use Google Consent Mode, so Google's tags respect the choice you make.
  • Our own visit counts: the site records page views without cookies — the page, the country (from your device's time zone), the device type and the referring site. It never stores your IP address or anything that identifies you.
  • How Google uses data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Microsoft's privacy statement: privacy.microsoft.com.

7Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it for us under contract — website hosting and database, email, SMS and WhatsApp messaging, file storage, payments, and analytics if you allow it — with employers when you apply for a placement through us, or when the law requires it. Some providers store data on servers outside India, with safeguards required by law.

8How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to admission: up to 2 years from your last contact, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
  • Student records, certificates and fee receipts: for as long as needed to verify certificates and meet legal and tax requirements (usually up to 8 years).
  • Trainer applications: up to 1 year.
  • Website visit counts: 13 months, then deleted automatically.

9How we protect it

Data is kept in secured systems with access limited to staff who need it, encrypted connections (HTTPS), role-based permissions and activity logs. If a personal data breach occurs, we will inform affected people and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

10Your rights

  • Access: ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is used.
  • Correction and update: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure: ask us to delete data we no longer need, unless the law requires us to keep it.
  • Withdraw consent: stop marketing messages or other processing based on consent.
  • Nominate: name someone to exercise your rights if you die or are unable to.
  • Grievance redressal: complain to us, and if not satisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India.

11How to make a request or complaint

Use the data request form linked below, or write to our Grievance Officer at info@harvarddigitalacademy.com or Harvard Digital Academy, 1st Floor, Oil Mill Rd, Aravind Nagar, Peace Layout, Kammanahalli, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560084. We will confirm your identity and respond within 30 days.
